MEET FROGMORE!
Meet Frogmore: A Celebration of Art, Tradition, and Community
This year’s Turtle Tide Art Reveal marked another heartwarming chapter in Edisto’s love story with its coastal heritage and community spirit. Among the stars of the 2025 Turtlefest lineup is “Frogmore,” a brilliantly painted turtle sculpture sponsored by Edisto Catering Company and Internal Medicine of Edisto.
On May 31st, the Edisto community gathered for the 4th Annual Turtle Tide Art Reveal, a vibrant event co-hosted by the Edisto Chamber of Commerce and Edisto Beach State Park. This event kicked off the Loggerhead turtle nesting season and shines a spotlight on local creativity, conservation, and community support. Since its inception, the Turtle Tide Art Project has raised an impressive $254,000, directly benefiting 17 local nonprofits.

Frogmore: A Tribute to Lowcountry Flavor and Artistry
Artist Ginger Varner brought Frogmore to life with dazzling creativity, capturing the essence of one of the Lowcountry’s most beloved traditions—Frogmore Stew. Her work not only honors the culinary heritage of the region but also transforms it into a whimsical and visually stunning piece of public art.

Frogmore will be auctioned off on Saturday, October 11, with proceeds benefiting the Edisto Island Community Clinic—a testament to how art and generosity walk hand-in-hand in this special community.

Have You Ever Had Frogmore Stew?
If you’ve never tried Frogmore Stew (also known as Lowcountry Boil), Edisto Catering Company would be delighted to introduce you to this Southern favorite! This flavorful dish brings together:
-
Local shrimp
-
A variety of crab
-
Smoked sausage
-
Corn on the cob
-
Potatoes
All are simmered in a large pot seasoned with Old Bay, butter, lemon, and a few local secrets. It’s served family-style, often poured right onto a table covered in paper for everyone to dive in—no utensils required. We recommend adding melted butter, cocktail sauce, and hot sauce on the side for the full experience!

Art Across Edisto
Each turtle sculpture, painted by a talented local artist, reflects the vibrant personality of Edisto. These masterpieces will be displayed throughout the island all summer long, culminating in the fall auction where their stories continue with new owners and greater impact.

Let Frogmore be your invitation to experience the flavor, color, and camaraderie that make Edisto truly unforgettable!
